Realme Narzo 20 Pro Review

The latest addition to Realme’s Narzo series is the Narzo 20 Pro which is the first of its kind to be given the Pro label. Designed specifically for gamers, Realme has made its specs more interesting for its price point which is at Rs 14,999 for its base model. At this price, it is facing its own Realme 7 and if you do compare the two, you will find some similarities between them. That said, let’s focus on what Realme Narzo 20 Pro is and see what it has to offer.

A Familiar Design

The Narzo 20 Pro has borrowed heavily on the design of the Realme 7 which may be one of the reasons why the price of this new mobile phone is budget-friendly. What you will get is the same 6.5 inch screen size, a fingerprint scanner placed on the side of the device, and a quad-cam set up at the rear. There is a punch hole camera placed at the left side f the display which can be distracting for some. It did change the design at the rear of the phone, but it won’t be surprising when you mistake it for its other sibling.

Processing Power

Just like in the case of Realme 7, the Narzo 20 Pro runs on MediaTek Helio G95 chipset together with 6GB worth of RAM and an internal storage of 64GB. This is the base model. You can upgrade yours to 8GB worth of RAM with an internal storage of 128GB but you will be dishing out Rs. 16,999 for it, so weigh your options carefully. Expect that this phone will come with a 90Hz refresh rate to help with the gaming experience too. Although this type of refresh rate is rare at its current setting, Realme is starting to offer it in select models.

Performance Level

In terms of performance, you will find that the Narzo 20 Pro will give you your money’s worth. It loads programs with ease and swiping at your screen won’t be a problem. Playing mobile games here like Call of Duty can take a toll on your battery, plus it makes the screen a bit hot after a few minutes of game play. The phone automatically chooses the best setting for you to avoid lags when playing. Choosing to play a mobile game at its highest setting may cause your device to heat up real quick which can affect your game play so you might want to take this into account. Its 4,500mAh battery can give you several hours of usage when used casually. This might be different when you are playing high graphics game so be ready with your charger.

Workable Camera

The quadruple camera at the rear of Narzo 20 Pro gives you more creative shots with your device which is surprising given its price point. You have a 48MP main camera, 8MP ultra wide lens, 2MP B&W portrait lens, as well as 2MP macro lens. Night shots aren’t exactly great but they do the job. Taking still shots are good enough at this point where the subjects are clear and close to reality. There are some distortions happening too when using the 48MP main camera. Portrait shots aren’t bad and they do come with blur effects to make you the center of attention so to speak. Overall, the camera specs are decent, but they are not the best in the market.

Conclusion

The Narzo 20 Pro focuses on providing its users with a better gaming experience thanks to its specs. It has a good refresh rate at its level so there won’t be any lags. The processor appears to be capable of running games well especially with the 6GB/8GB RAM, plus the internal storage is decent enough at its price point.

If you are willing to overlook the subpar camera performance, then this model is a good option to consider. The battery life is decent enough at 4,500mAh which can last you several hours in a day with just a single charge. You might want to weigh your options carefully when considering Narzo 20 Pro and Realme 7 since both look the same although they are from different series.
